Observing and marking lead up to equinox

sunset-206820_150

As the Spring Equinox turn of the year approaches we once again start to observe and mark the movement of the sun on our sundials and other measuring devices such as the simple nail in a board.

This is the fifth year that we have undertaken such measurements and this is the fourth year of having a combined witness between the US and Australia.

Please see below some pictures showing observations marked from Weston, Colorado USA on 12 and 13 March 2017.  As the shadow moves closer to the middle and X marks the spot we see the equinox approaching.  It is still a number of days away.

From the location on the Northern Beaches of Sydney we are using a simple nail in a board as a contrast to the more elaborate dials used in Colorado.  The point is to be able to use what you have and to take the time to observe and mark.  The more you do it the more in tune you get with the movements and patterns established by our Abba.

Please see below some pics that show the marks made based on observations on 11,12,13 March 2017.  There is also a picture that includes a ruler so you can see how the markings curve away over the course of the day.  On the equinox day there will be no curve as per the witness from previous years.

The use of other devices is fun and interesting, even observing shadows from the power poles.

We encourage you as we have done in previous communication to see what you can do to observe for yourself and where possible to share this with us by email to: witness@hisplan.net

Keep looking up!

Shalom
